Top 10 Usher Songs

Posted by Boonsri Dickinson

Usher songs -- revealing heartache, first love, and yes, confessions -- have been playing on the airwaves and topping the charts since the star released his 1994 self-titled debut at age 15. Today he's one of the most well-known R&B artists, selling over 40 million albums internationally and earning five Grammy Awards. Whether he croons about being there for a woman, courting a woman, or even cheating on a woman, Usher is the R&B singer of relationships. As rated by AOL radio listeners, here are the Top 10 Usher Songs.

Usher You Make Me Wanna10) 'You Make Me Wanna'

The song is about a man in a troubled relationship, who confines in another woman and ends up wanting her. So typical, no wonder it spent 71 weeks on the Hot R&B charts. The song earned a Grammy nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

Usher U Remind Me9) 'U Remind Me'

If looks could kill, it could kill a relationship. 'U Remind Me' tells the tale of a man who likes a woman, but won't get serious with her because she looks too much like one of his ex-girlfriends.

Usher Nice & Slow8) 'Nice & Slow'

The ballad single, 'Nice & Slow,' helped his album, 'My Way' go platinum in 1997. This is the first song to hit No. 1 on the charts. The album was produced by L.A. Reid, Babyface, and Dupri -- and the album's success helped catapult Usher's success.

Usher Papers7) 'Papers'

This is Usher's debut single off his 2010 'Raymond v. Raymond,' which address the end of his marriage. Apparently co-writer Sean Garrett wrote this song months before there was any word about a divorce between Usher and his now ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

Usher U Got It Bad6) 'U Got It Bad'

Jeramaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox produced the song. Listen up, the lyrics are catchy: "U got it bad when you're out with someone / But you keep thinkin' bout somebody else."

Usher Confessions Part II5) 'Confessions Part II'

A follow-up to 'Confessions Part 1' about a one-night stand, the second confession is to the man's girlfriend about how the woman he cheated with is now pregnant. This Usher song was ranked No. 4 on our list of the Top R&B Songs of the Decade.

Usher Burn4) 'Burn'

Burn. That's how heartache feels. Usher sings about a man who broke up with his girlfriend, but then later regrets his hasty decision. But of course, now he can't have her. Ouch, that may even burn more.

Usher Here I Stand3) 'Love In This Club Part II'

This is the remix of the original, 'Love In This Club,' and features Lil Wayne and Beyoncé. The remake of this song was Usher's favorite collaboration for the album -- well, alongside the track 'Best Thing' with Jay-Z. Either way 2008's 'Here I Stand' in Usher's opinion, was the "realest."

Usher & Alicia Keys My Boo2) 'My Boo'

Both Beyoncé and Alicia Keys were considered for this Usher song, however the production team went with Keys, especially since she had already collaborated with Usher that year on her 2004 remix 'If I Ain't Got You.' The tune is written from the perspectives of Keys and Usher, who role-play as an ex-couple with a past. Usher talks about lingering feelings from the past, whereas Keys sings about always have feelings for your first love, because, well, first love lasts forever.

Usher Here I Stand1) 'Here I Stand'

This sensual slow-tempo ballad was played at Usher's wedding in 2007. But the title track wasn't written for the occasion -- Usher penned it long before the engagement. In the song, a man gives a woman his word and commits on being there for her. This completes Usher's range of love songs, marking the end of meeting a woman in a club and asking for her name. To this tune, 'Here I Stand,' is our No. 1 song.
