Raymond," which he sees an expression of his struggle to balance life in the fast lane with his commitments as a family man and father.Last year the 31-year-old R & B star, one of the world's top-selling musicians, filed for divorce from the mother of his two young sons, and feelings of anger, guilt and relief filter through the music on his latest record. So too does a celebration of being single again, placing Raymond v. Raymond somewhere between his 2004 hit "Confessions" and the more subdued, though less successful follow-up "Here I Stand" that followed his 2007 marriage to Tameka Foster.

"Here I Stand was a very personal album, it was very honest, there wasn't that much drama because I was in a happy place, I was married, I had children and (was) really coming of age," Usher told Reuters in a telephone interview.

The five-time Grammy award winner had been due to give interviews in London this week, but the flight ban over Europe caused by volcanic ash prevented him traveling.

Usher Talks About "Sincerity " in His Music...

The 31-year-old R&B star is due to release his new album RaymondvRaymond next week. He can’t wait for fans to hear the record, but says those expecting to discover intimate details behind his divorce from Tameka Foster last year will be disappointed.

While he admits he captures various emotions in his music, Usher has vowed to never write autobiographical songs because he wants to remain “anonymous”.




“My music has always acted like a passport to convey certain emotions but I never let it get too deep in my energy in talking about my personal space,” he explained. “I battle for a personal life. Anonymity is something you just don’t have as an artist because the press is always going to be there and is always going to be opinionated.”

USHER made it big in 1997 with My Way but 13 years on the R&B star feels the need to tell people who he really is. Usher Raymond IV said he wanted his new release, Raymond V Raymond , to reveal "every perspective of Usher". "Many people have known me for many years as just Usher, but they never got to know Raymond. So now you know Usher and Raymond – and both sides of who he is," the 31-year-old said.

"I was able to hone in on two very incredible things about my personality. One being I'm very honest and the other being I'm very open and vulnerable at the same time.

"If I go all the way back to Confessions [released in 2004] there was something very honest and vulnerable in that and something equally as honest in Here I Stand [released in 2008]."

Explaining why he chose to sign the 'Baby' singer in the first place and make him the overnight pop sensation he is now, the R&B star - who just dropped his new 'Raymond VS Raymond' CD this month - said: "I think it was, first and foremost, his charming, winning, timeless attitude. It's as though he had been here before."

Usher added to the Los Angeles Times: "When I met him, his personality won me over. When he sang, I realized we were dealing with the real thing. His voice just spoke to the type of music I would want to be associated with.

"And it wasn't a gimmick - we had to teach him how to dance and be on stage, but he really had a good voice," added the 'OMG' singer.

For the record Usher has neither promote the song nor the album yet in the UK!

Usher's been flexing his executive muscle as of late. In late 2008, the singer inked promising pop act Justin Bieber to a joint venture between the Raymond-Braun Music Group and L.A. Reid's Island Def Jam.

Usher's instincts have seemingly paid off thus far. Bieber has released three Top 20 singles in the past year, including "Baby" featuring Ludacris. Furthermore, Bieber's debut, "My World" hit stores last Tuesday (March 23) and is projected to sell between 225 to 250, 000 copies in its first week. To let Usher tell it, it's just the beginning.

"Justin Bieber from the moment that I met him, I recognized that he was poised to be successful," Usher told BET.com.

Does the guest mentor have a major impact on the quality of "Idol" performances during any given week? Well, if you felt like Tuesday's soul and R&B night showed a little more oomph than the sleepy pseudo-themes of the first couple of shows, then hats off to Usher. (Sunglasses are another matter).

Speaking to reporters after the show (an "Idol" first!), the contestants simply gushed over the hit-maker's ability to hone in on individual strengths and weaknesses. "I think he really tailored every comment and advice for each one of us," said "Big Mike" Lynch, who sang India.Arie's "Ready for Love." "You could tell he did his homework on us. That was crazy."

Andrew Garcia had a similar experience on his redemption night. "He just told me that I need to do my acoustic and not focus on what the judges are gonna say or what anybody is thinking -- just to do what I do," said the Moreno Valley native who sang Chris Brown's "Forever." "And he liked it! That was crazy coming from Usher."

Lee Dewyze added that, in his case, Usher simply "nailed it on the head." "He said to me, 'The biggest problem is your confidence,'" Lee recalled. "And I was, like, 'How the hell did you know that?'"

Despite early and constant leaks and much scepticism Usher will take the #1 spot of Billboard top 200 album next week. He is set to sell more than 350 000 albums. As far as I'm concerned ,I always knew that Raymond Vs Raymond will doing well since I know that Usher has a solid fanbase.

Malgré des fuites sur internet et beaucoup de scepticisme,le nouvel album d'Usher devrait être numéro un la semaine prochaine!Il devrait se vendre à plus de 350 000 exemplaires! Un chiffre qui dépasse de loin les chiffres des pop stars d'aujourd'hui telles que Rihanna ou encore Lady Gaga. Je ne suis vraiment pas surprise par ces chiffres étant donné qu'Usher fait partie de ces artistes avec une fanbase très solide.
